Plade with me!

You may have heard that Plogging is the new craze, but we're here to get Plading on the map too!

I attempted to do a roller blading marathon a couple of years

ago but only achieved a half. Turns out, roller blades really do

your ankles in after a few miles! Who knew!?

But there's a lot of good feedback about Plading and I

wanted to find a way to raise awareness about litter in general while getting people to litter pick too.

So this is how PLADE WITH ME has come about!

I'm going to (attempt to) do more than a marathon on skates at Castle Combe Circuit in Chippenham at the Annual South Coast Roll on the 7th October this year!

Each lap of Castle Combe is 1.85 miles and I am going to do 15 of them, making 27.75 miles. More than Marathon (just).

But I'm not looking to raise money, I'm hoping to raise LITTER! I will skate and you pick and together we will PLADE!

I should stress, I'm not physically fit, I'm very lazy, I have never even run a marathon before, this is going to be VERY tough on my legs. Like, not being able to stand the next day sort of tough.

I would love it, if for every lap I do, you pledge to pick up however many bits of litter and help clean up our planet!

Every bit of litter you pledge to pick up, will spur me on to do these laps, because I feel tired already just thinking about them!

wE'RE A TEAM!

THE CIRCUIT

your litter pick pledge

You don't have to add your email if you don't want to, but if you'd like to sign up to newsletters you can subscribe on my homepage.

How many pieces of litter will you pledge to collect for every lap I skate? (My goal is 15 laps)

When you go out to litter pick your pledged amount, please feel free to post your amazing efforts with the hashtag #PladeWithMLPC so I can thank you!

NB: You can do your litter picking before, after or while I'm Plading. I will start at 11am on Sunday 7th October and have 6 hours to do it in. Just think of it like a normal sponsored marathon, except you're sponsoring with litter instead of money and I'm wearing roller blades instead of trainers!

Thank you for teaming up with me!!
