Plade with Me! My 'More Than a Marathon' challenge.

So in October, on Sunday 7th at 11am, I will be attempting to do 27.75 miles or 15 laps around Castle Combe Circuit on roller blades.

"But why?" you might ask. Well I love Plading, and I love watching people litter pick so I want to do something that really tests me (because honestly, I'm not that fit at all!) and also, hopefully, raises awareness of litter and encourages people to go out and litter pick. Because if you guys pick up litter, it makes me super happy and it will spur me on to do this challenge!!

So I'm not doing this to marathon to raise money, I'm doing it to raise litter! Instead of donating money, I would LOVE you to pledge pieces or bags of litter!

You can pick up the pieces you pledge before, after or while I Plade. It would be AWESOME if you could designate half hour or an hour of your day on Sunday 7th between 11am and 5pm to go out and litter pick and share with me live what you find while I'm skating round Castle Combe! Like a huge group litter pick in different places. That would be the DREAM!

I intend to create some kind of litter outfit, something trashy but also breathable (I.e not plastic bags!), remember when you used to put crisp packets in the oven at school? I'm thinking a tank top out of those and cut in half bottles (vertically not horizontally) as a skirt. In my head, it looks great, in reality it will probably look like it just came out of a bin, but isn't that the point?!

I know a lot of people attend the Annual South Coast Roll event, and it sometimes gets a TV spot, so hopefully it will be a great place to engage in conversation and raise awareness of litter.

Of course I will be flying a Keep Britain Tidy flag (literally) as part of my Litter Hero Ambassador duties and I hope we can make this into a good event.

I'll be going live throughout the day (probably looking sweaty and horrendous so tune in for that!) and would love to hear if you guys are doing your litter pick at the same time I'm blading.
